ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday morning left the country to attend the United Nations’ 27th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
According to his party, the former Prime minister is also expected to address the summit as an African Union High Representative.
"PL Raila Odinga left this morning (Monday) for Egypt to attend this year’s United Nations’ 27th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change, known as COP27.
"He was invited to address the meeting at in his capacity as the AU High Rep. for Infrastructure Development in Africa," ODM said on Monday.
President William Ruto will address the United Nation's annual climate change summit in Egypt on Monday.
Ruto's address is set to begin at 4.35 pm and end at 4.55 pm.
He will speak on behalf of Kenya and the African Group present at the conference.
The head of state left the country for Egypt on Sunday.
His delegation includes Cabinet Secretaries Alfred Mutua (Foreign Affairs), Davis Chirchir (Energy) and Council of Governors chairperson Anne Waiguru.
120 world leaders as well as 30,000 people are expected to attend the two-week summit in Egypt.
World leaders will speak on Monday and Tuesday, and once they depart, conference delegates will continue with the negotiations.
