Last year's event took place at St. Anthony’s Cathedral in the Catholic Diocese of Malindi and was the venue of the Annual Interdenominational Thanksgiving Prayers 2021.
Members of the Uniformed and Disciplined Services were urged by their Commanders to embrace counselling through the available channels to avoid accumulation of mental stress observed to be responsible for rising number of violent cases involving officers from the units including suicides and homicides at times even directing to their own family members.
Additionally, they were reminded of the new enhanced group life insurance cover offered to them by National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) from 1st January 2021 and asked to present any inquiries during the sensitization forums thus lined up in the coming months.
The 2020 Annual Prayers were cancelled for the first time since its inception in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
