The strike by Kenya Airways pilot has affected over 10,000 passengers, Transport and Roads Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed.
Some of those stranded were to make connection flights in Nairobi to their various destinations, he said.
“We are hoping that a decision will be reached as soon as possible... about 10,000 passengers have been affected so far,” the CS said.
He spoke on Saturday morning when he toured the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to assess the impact of the KQ pilots.
The strike, which the government termed as illegal, got underway Saturday morning, paralysing KQ operations.
He revealed that KQ has reserved bookings in most of the hotels in the city to accommodate inconvenienced passengers
“Most of the hotels around here are full,” he added.
