Five police officers from the defunct SSU will on  Monday be produced in court after being  detained at industrial area police station.

Kahawa law courts chief magistrate ordered that she will determine on Monday whether the five will be detained for a further 30 days asked by the state to allow for investigations.

Rescue operations underway after India bridge collapse

At least 132 people died after a suspension bridge collapsed in India’s western state of Gujarat.

Personnel from India’s army, navy and air force are assisting in search and rescue operations.

Chief Minister of India’s Gujarat state, Bhupendra Patel said the armed forces would be assisting the National Disaster Response Force and the State Disaster Response Force.
