ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo on Friday officially took over the ministry from his predecessor Joe Mucheru.
The handing-over ceremony was held at Teleposta towers in Nairobi.
In a statement after the ceremony, Owalo committed himself to deliver his mandate.
"I've hit the road running and I eagerly look forward to working in concert with relevant sector stakeholders to build an empowered and digitised Kenyan society and realize the attendant goals," he said.
"The work begins, and it will be done."
The CS thanked President William Ruto for his appointment, pointing out that he had been charged with an "enormous task".
He also expressed his gratitude to the former ICT CS Joe Mucheru.
"In the same breath, I thank my predecessor for his service to the nation that we all cherish. My work is well cut out," he said.
Owalo is among the 22 cabinet secretaries appointed by President Ruto.
They are tasked with delivering the Kenya Kwanza plan that the head of state is keen on fulfilling.
