Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred  Mutua is set to jet out of the country to Saudi Arabia next week.

Mutua who made the announcement on his official Twitter account did not reveal the day he will leave the country.

His visit comes in the wake of complaints raised over the mistreatment of Kenyan workers in the Gulf country.

The visit will most likely seek to address the concerns of Kenyans in Saudi Arabia and exploit areas of mutual interest between the two nations.

Mutua made public his visit after holding conversations with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kenya Khalid Abdullah Alsalman on Friday.

"I held fruitful discussions with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kenya H.E Khalid Abdullah Alsalman ahead of my visit to Saudi Arabia next week. Saudi Arabia is a key development partner and host to 104,000 Kenyans," he tweeted.

"We discussed issues of mutual interest including the welfare of Kenyan workers."

This will be Mutua's first official visit after being sworn into office on Thursday.
