Central Organization of Trade Unions Secretary-General Francis Atwoli on Tuesday visited Prime Cabinet CS nominee Musalia Mudavadi.

In a statement, Mudavadi said that they consulted on how to develop the Western region.

"This afternoon COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli paid me a visit. We consulted on matters of development and unity in the Western Region. We agreed we have no option as leaders but to consolidate," he said.

This is the first time the two leaders are seen in public after the August 9, polls.

Atwoli and Mudavadi have conflicts due to their affiliation with different political parties.

Atwoli rallied behind Azimio leader Raila Odinga campaigning for him in the Western region while Mudavadi was affiliated with Kenya Kwanza.

Atwoli, several times, criticised Mudavadi for agreeing to work with President William Ruto saying he 'shamed' the Luhya community.

However, Atwoli vowed to work with Ruto after he was declared President.
