Deputy President Rigathi Gachgaua has said the Kenya Kwanza Government needs time to clean the economic mess of Kenya.

Speaking in Kericho on Sunday, he told off critizers, noting that they cannot start overnighting work which has not yet been completed.

"To our detractors, we can’t clean the economic mess of five years in 30 days. We are cleaning your mess," Gachagua added.

He explained that they have started to reform the public service from politics to service delivery.

" We have even told the county commissioners to refrain from politics and serve Kenyans as they should," Gachagua said.

The second in command argued that the opposition cannot oversight the government as it cleans up the mess.

'You cannot oversight as we clean up the mess that some people led us into. Once we are done cleaning, you can start your oversight on our programs," Gachagua added.

On Saturday, the DP said Raila abandoned his oversight role during the Jubilee reign and allowed public coffers to be looted.

He said Raila should now limit his criticism on the government of the day as it tries to fix the ills perpetrated by the Jubilee administration.

"Wewe mzee wa kuzimia, unaongea mzuri sana na hiyo ndio kazi yako ya kukosoa sisi. Kama ungefanya hiyo kazi ya kukosoa serikali ya Uhuru Kenyatta, hatungefika pahali tuko," Gachagua said.

(What you are saying is very good and that's your job to correct us. Had you done your job of correcting Uhuru Kenyatta's government, we wouldn't be here today).
