List of MPs fronted to the House Business Committee (HBC)

The HBC is appointed within seven days after the new House is fully constituted.

Ruaraka MP T0m Kajwang and his Eldas counterpart Adan Wehliye are among nine MPS whose names have been proposed to seat at the National Assembly's House Business Committee.

The names were tabled on Tuesday afternoon by Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwah, as the legislators resumed plenary sittings.

Others are MP Samwel Chepkonga, MP Faith Wairimu, MP Umul Kassim, MP Omboko Milemba, MP Robert Mbui, MP Sarah Korere and MP Joshua Mbithi

The nine will join Speaker Moses Wetangula,  Ichung'wah, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, Chief Whip Sylvanus Osoro and his minority counterpart Junet Mohammed who are automatic members owing to their positions.

The HBC is appointed within seven days after the new House is fully constituted.

The committee also monitors and oversees the implementation of the House Business and programmes.

HBC implements the Standing Orders respecting the scheduling or programming of the business of the House and the functioning of the Committees of the House.

It also determines the order in which the reports of Committees shall be debated in the House.

The Chairperson and at least one-third of the other members of the House Business Committee shall form a quorum.
