Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hailed residents of the Rift Valley region for firmly standing with President William Ruto at the time he was facing frustrations from the regime of former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Gachagua said Ruto's government had forgiven all those who frustrated him and now wants to move forward with all Kenyans.

He told off those in state institutions who were opposed to his stand on stating the truth about the country's economy.

"Kenyans want to know the truth always and I am not the type who will change from telling the truth," Gachagua said.

The DP said Ruto’s government would not weaponize or use state institutions like the police, KRA, EACC, DCI, county commissioners to target innocent people the way it was done to him and Ruto during retired President Uhuru’s government.

He said he had met with all county commissioners and regional coordinators and assured them that they would not be used for politics under the Kenya Kwanza government.

"We will not use them to disrespect elected leaders or arrest innocent people on Fridays just for purposes of frustrating them," Gachagua said.

He said under Ruto's government, police would be supported to perform their duties effectively and work well with members of the public.

He was speaking during thanksgiving prayers at Koilel near President William Ruto's home in Uasin Gishu.

The inter-denominational prayers was organized by Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet and churches in the region.

Gachagua praised Kibet for playing a bigger role in the victory of Kenya Kwanza.

"Farouk ensured that we had smooth campaigns leading to victory in the elections", Gachagwa said.

He said Ruto would not have been president were it not for God.

"What human beings had planned and done to Ruto and his team, as human beings we would not have managed and we thank God for his grace," Gachagua said.

He thanked residents of Uasin Gishu for voting for the Kenya Kwanza team.

Gachagua said residents of the Rift Valley region had been mature and patient even as Ruto was frustrated by the former government.

He said Ruto, his wife Rachel and  close allies had been publicly humiliated but the Kalenjin community remained peaceful and behind the Kenya Kwanza team.

"On behalf of the president, I say thank you for standing with all of us despite all those challenges that were put against us," Gachagua said.

He said Ruto had now been named as Kamau in Mt Kenya region where they considered him as one of them.

Gachagua said state institutions which had been used to target him and Ruto should know that they had been forgiven and should now focus on working for Kenyans.

At the same time he said prices of fertilizer had been reduced from more than Sh6,500 to about Sh3,500.

He said the government would plan to reduce the same to about sh2,500 per 50kg bag.

Speaker of the national assembly Moses Wetangula who was present said Ruto was elected because many Kenyans believe he has a vision to take the county to greater heights.

He said the biggest causality of the recent elections was tribalism.

Wetangula said those who had been perpetrating and selling fear and tribalism to Kenyans had now retreated to shame.

He said Kenya had many challenges but the Kenya Kwanza government under Ruto would turn around the economy and put a smile on the faces of Kenyans.

He said residents of Uasin Gishu and the entire Rift Valley should continue to support the president so that he delivers on his mandate and transform the country to a developing nation within the next ten years.

Majority leader in parliament Kimani Ichungwa said it seemed impossible for President William Ruto to become president but he had now taken over the reigns of power because of God's will.

"We decided to follow the truth and not the former president Uhuru Kenyatta because we knew we were doing the will of God," Ichung'wa said.

Ichung'wa said they had forgiven all those who mistreated President Ruto and his team and that Ruto's government would not frustrate anyone.

He said as majority leader, his work would be to listen to the ground and tell the President the truth.

He said the economy was in bad shape and those involved in looting the economy would be made return the same.

"We just want to tell public servants including those who had been made to hate Ruto that now they must get used to telling the truth because Ruto was not a leader who listens to lies," Ichung'wa said.

He promised that Ruto's government would restore the economy to benefit Kenyans.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said the recent elections had helped to strengthen unity of Kenyans.

He said the country's democracy was tested to the extended that it now does not matter ones religion, tribe or origin.

Nyoro said although the country's economy was in tatters but President William Ruto is up to the task and will enable the country to rise.

"I see a Kenya where we will have abundance of jobs, where farmers and businessmen will have money and enabled the country to prosper," Nyoro said.

CS nominee for Roads Kipchumba Murkomen said the recent elections were different because it changed the country's politics to focus on policies and issues and not tribes.

He said President Ruto had been supported nationally in all counties signaling an end to politics of tribe.

Murkomen promised farmers that they would get cheaper fertilizer as promised by the government.

Farmers he said would also enjoy better prices for maize.

"We did not come to government because it is easy. We inherited a country that is broke but we will do our best to make this country a greater place," Murkomen said.

He assured civil servants to work hard with freedom and serve Kenyans better.

Murkomen said the government would ensure Kerio Valley is turned from the valleye of death to the valley of life.

"Am grateful to the president for picking me as CS and I am willing to learn so that we serve better as government," Murkomen said.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei said they were grateful to God for peace during the elections.

"We shall give the president and you the unconditional support you need so that you deliver on your mandate," Cherargei said.

He at the same time faulted state institutions which he claimed were disrespectful to DP Gachagua because of his stand on some national issues.

He said he would lead to amendment of the laws on terrorism to include bandits who were also killing many people in Kerio Valley.

Cherargei hailed President William Ruto for nominating Senator Kipchumba Murkomen to be CS for roads.

He asked Murkomen ensure Kerio Valley is developed to help end banditry in the region.

Maalim Mohammed who is regional coordinator in Rift Valley said public servants in the region would serve the country and the government of the day with dedication.

He said he would continue to lead efforts to end banditry in Kerio Valley where the situation had relatively improved.

Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko said he would not forget the frustrations he went through during the regime of former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

"He recalled how Uhuru's government had turned against all those who supported him to be president for two terms,," Sonko said.

He praised Gachagua for his speech during the inauguration at Kasarani stadium in which he openly told Uhuru the truth.

Sonko said he would now take the role of the real deep state in government and he would deal with anyone who jokes with the president and his deputy.
