Jilted lover kills man at his ex-girlfriend's house in Kitale

A jilted man has stabbed to death a 40-year-old man after he found him at his ex-girlfriend's house in Trans Nzoia.

The deceased who was identified as Alfred Wafula Mang'oli is reported to have visited his girlfriend at her house in Mitume in Matisi on Tuesday evening.

A source told the Star that the two lovers were ambushed on Wednesday morning.

The deceased's mother Hellen Mideva said that the suspect sneaked into the house at around 5 am and stabbed her son several times.

"The ex-girlfriend was in the bathroom that is not far from the house when the suspect entered the house," she told the Star in an interview.

She said the suspect then turned the knife to his ex-girlfriend and stabbed her when she came back to the house.

Trans Nzoia Criminal investigations boss Francis Kihara said police were in hot pursuit of the suspect who works in a bakery in Kitale Town.

Kihara further said that the suspect used a kitchen knife when he ambushed the two lovers.

"The suspect had actually armed himself with a kitchen knife which he used in stabbing the deceased eight times on the stomach, chest and hands. The lady was stabbed four times on the hands and chest," said Mr Kihara.

The woman is undergoing treatment at the Kitale County Referral hospital.

The Police boss said they suspect the man behind the attack could have escaped to neighboring Uganda.

"We have so far tracked the suspect who escaped to Uganda through the Malaba border," he said.

The body of the deceased was taken to Kitale County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
