Two MP race losers among 10 nominees for Turkana CEC jobs

Patrick Losike and Leah Audan vied for Turkana West and Woman Rep seats respectively

Two Turkana politicians who lost in the MP race are among 10 nominees for county executive committee members.

Patrick Losike Lokaimoe previously served as the CEC for Education, Sports and Social Protection before he resigned in February to run for the Turkana West MP.

Leah Audan Lokaala, who vied for Woman Representative seat on the ODM ticket, has been nominated to head the Infrastructure, Transport and Public Works docket.

The two are among 10 names Governor Jeremiah Lomurukai on Monday unveiled as his nominees for the county executive committee members.

Others are Wangiros Longole James (Public Service, Administration and Disaster Management), David Erukudi Ewoyate (Agriculture, Pastoral Economy and Fisheries).

Peter Akono has been proposed to be the Lands, Housing and Urban Areas Management CEC.

Former Lands CEC Anthony Apalia Ekakoron will be the new Water Services executive, if approved by the county assembly.

 Michael Ekidor Eregae, who served as the director for Livestock, has been proposed to take over as the CEC for Finance and Economic Planning.

Francis Mariao Iris has been named the new CEC for Tourism, Culture, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources subject to approval of the assembly.

Faith Akuwom Aletia will take charge of the Health Services and Sanitation docket.

Elizabeth Akuwom Loote has been proposed to head the Trade, Gender and Youth Affairs docket.

“I have taken cognizance of merit and regional balance as required by law in identifying the nominees for consideration for appointments. The individuals possess the requisite qualifications and competence to support realisation of the county government’s goals and vision,”  Lomurukai said.
