President William Ruto has mourned the death of UDA executive committee member Lawrence Ngacha.

In his message of condolence to family and friends, Ruto eulogised Ngacha as a selfless and dedicated public servant.

"Condolences to the family and friends of Lawrence Ngacha who was a National Executive Committee member of the United Democratic Alliance," Ruto said.

"Hon Ngacha was a selfless and dedicated public servant in Nairobi where he served as Councillor and deputy mayor. Rest in peace," he added.

Ngacha was among 31 officials who were unveiled by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) early October, 2021 to run the affairs of Ruto's presidential campaigns.

Ngacha was named secretary for Labour and Social Services in the team which also included an MP, an ex-cabinet minister, former MP and technocrats.

The officials made up the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party whose mandate included making top party decisions and overseeing party grassroots elections and nominations.

ODM Director of communication Phillip Etale also eulogised Ngacha as a gentleman who appreciated friendship and loved making friends.

'He saw me grow and called me ‘Phil’. I simply called him Mayor. Today I have learned of his death. It is sad but we have to accept it. Moses and  fam, poleni," Etale said.
