Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has said since Azimio is the largest party in the National Assembly, it deserves to have the majority position.
She said according to the Coalition agreements, Azimio needs to have the benefits of the majority party.
"We are the largest party in Parliament, we, therefore, deserve to have the majority leader and whip position, and all things that go with the majority,' she said.
Karua spoke on Friday in Machakos during a meeting of Azimio MPs, called to deliberate on how they will carry out their business in the 13th Parliament.
She urged the leaders to be united and strong to achieve their mandate.
"I would like to adopt Bensouda's words, you must start strong, in order to deliver."
Karua further challenged them to stay united.
The former Azimio presidential running mate also urged the MPs to work with the government, but not in a position of weakness.
"You need to work together as a team. So yes, you will collaborate, but you must collaborate from a position of strength," she said.
Leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka were also in attendance.
Raila reiterated Karua's words, urging the leaders to bond.
"If you do not unite, you are going to be ruled throughout the life of this Parliament and yet we have the numbers and strength to be able to be the rulers in the House," he said.
