A man accused of defiling and impregnating his wife's younger sister after the wife failed to conceive has been charged in court.

PQ was charged on Thursday before Kibera principal magistrate Monica Maroro where he denied the charges.

The charge sheet says that he committed the offence on diverse dates in March, after agreeing with the girl that they get a firstborn for the family.

He also denied the second count of committing an indecent act with the minor contrary to the penal code.

According to the prosecution, PQ is said to have approached the girl, a Form 1 student aged 16 when the wife was away.

The girl got pregnant on the first date.

PQ did shopping for her and after going back to school, a pregnancy test was done and turned positive.

The girl went back home where she was allegedly advised to abort but did not agree.

The wife of the accused person then learnt of the incident after the girl went to their house.

She reported the matter to the police and PQ was arrested.

The girl was taken to a city hospital where a PRC form was filled alongside other medical examinations.

The man was released on Sh500,000 bond.

The case will be mentioned later this month for a pre-trial.
