Movement for Democratic and Growth party has joined William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

DP Ruto while receiving the team led by the MDG party Leader David Ochieng said they have signed an agreement to work together for the next five years.

They said they are going to share in the progress, management and delivery of what they plan for Kenyans and the entire country.

"I am very happy to welcome MDG to the Kenya Kwanza family. We have been in consultation for the last few weeks and this morning we have concluded the agreement. This makes MGD part of the Kenya Kwanza fraternity," Ruto said.

He said this is a historical moment because this is a party largely from the Nyanza region and looking forward to forging the necessary partnership and building the necessary networks so that going into the future they can mainstream the people of Nyanza.

"This is in working with the rest of Kenya in ensuring that we build politics that are devoid of ethnicity, unnecessary conflicts and ensuring that we build on the current momentum."

He said they have made a commitment that they will be considered in the government they will form after the election process.

"We are going to make sure we move as a country and for the very first time, build bridges and networks across Kenya," Ochieng said.

The President-Elect noted that Kenyans have already made a decision to get rid of ethnicity politics in elections and believe that in the coming elections, the same will be experienced.

"We look forward to visiting Nyanza, campaigning in all the four counties of Nyanza. Unfortunately in this election, we were not able to visit any of the four counties within the region because of  conflict and violence," Ruto said.

Present at the presser were former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, ex- Senator Fred Outa, ex- MP Kisumu West Olago Aluoch, among others.
