President-elect William Ruto has said he will give outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta the respect he deserves despite their differences.

Speaking during a thanksgiving service at Gathiru-ini PCEA church, in Githunguri, Ruto said whatever they were not able to achieve, he will try his best to complete.

"I want to assure him he will have his respect, he will have his place as a retired president so that we can secure the respect of our country to ensure Kenyans are united as we move forward," he said.

Ruto said he will take up projects that Uhuru will not have finished and make sure they are completed.

"The much we did together, we will build on that legacy and continue taking our country forward. What was not possible, we will try and correct."

"I know there are so many projects that cost almost five Billion that have stuck, we already have a plan on how to unstuck them. They will be our priority to finish as we fashion the new programmes that will take our country to the next level," the DP said.

Ruto applauded Uhuru for his great contribution to making Kenya reach great heights.

He also thanked his competitors saying they played a part to maintain peace in the county.

"For the first time, our competition has not planned a protest, that is progress and now we can begin to grow the democracy of our country in the right direction."
