Nairobi governor-elect Johnson Sakaja says he is committed to deliver his campaign promise of transforming Nairobi into a city of hope, dignity and opportunities.

He said his administration will work for all people, regardless of their political alliance.

Sakaja, who was accompanied by his deputy Njoroge Muchiri, spoke on Tuesday when he met with all 36 Kenya Kwanza Nairobi MCA-elects at his campaign office.

He promised to work with all elected leaders of Nairobi to ensure cooperation and synergy in service delivery.

"The campaign period has concluded and I am now the governor for Nairobi. My work is to serve all and build a team that serves our people. We made commitments and we must deliver on them," Sakaja said.

The governor-elect said he is ready to work with the Nairobi assembly leadership team, that will be put in place in a few weeks.

He further promised to have an open door policy for all MCAs to ensure that their needs and those of the people they serve are his priority.

"I committed to setting up a kitty of Sh50 million for each ward. I promise you once I am sworn in, this will be among the first things that my administration will put in place," Sakaja said.
