The Amani National Party has nominated its party leader Musalia Mudavadi for the position of Prime Cabinet Secretary.

Musalia was unanimously nominated for the position in a special meeting held by the party's Council Bureau on Wednesday.

The new position to be created through an Executive Order was agreed upon by the founding party members of Kenya Kwanza.

The agreement was signed by President-elect William Ruto of UDA, Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya and Musalia Mudavadi on behalf of the ANC party.

The meeting called by the party Secretary General Simon Gikuru was virtually held.

In July, Musalia had stated he will run government affairs in Kenya Kwanza if they clinch power after the August polls.

Mudavadi was speaking in Sabatia, Vihiga county during a campaign trail.

He was wooing his perceived political bedrock to vote for Kenya Kwanza flag-bearer Ruto as he would become the third most powerful person.

Mudavadi said he and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang'ula negotiated a pre-election pact with Ruto to get a 30 per cent share of Kenya Kwanza government if the alliance wins.

The 30 per cent share was to come forth if the two deliver 70 per cent of Western Kenya votes. The, however, did not.

“When they come here, ask them to show you the agreement they have signed to safeguard your interest as a community other than being promised positions. Ours is in the public domain,” Mudavadi said.
