Former IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe said she is praying for the safety of her former colleague who went missing.
This was after an Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission returning officer went missing in Embakasi East.
“Praying that Daniel Daniel Musyoka is safe and is reunited with his family, IEBC colleagues and friends,” Akimbo said on social media on Saturday.
Akombe said she was aware of the struggles they were going through as they grapple with the tallying of presidential elections.
“Keeping my former staff and colleagues in my thoughts and prayers during these tough times. I know what you are going through. Bon courage,” she said.
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said returning officer Daniel Musyoka had gone missing on Thursday, August 11.
Daniel was at the East African School of Aviation tallying centre when he disappeared at 9.45am.
"Musyoka's family and the Commission have been trying to reach him without success. A report of a missing person has been made at Embakasi police station," Chebukati said.
His deputy has taken over Musyoka's duties.
Musyoka was not available for the handover of the certificate to the winners on Thursday.
The elected MCAs and MP-elect Babu Owino received their certificates from another IEBC official standing in for Musyoka.
In 2017 IEBC commissioner Akombe fled Kenya, saying she feared for her life. She released a devastating letter about IEBC irregularities and infighting.
She is an international civil servant, working at the UN in New York, currently in Addis Ababa.
She said she would testify at an inquest about the torture murder in 2017 of IEBC technology chief Chris Msando.
No inquest has been held, the case is unsolved.
