City lawyer Stephen Mogaka of Jubilee won the West Mugirango MP seat after garnering 16,877 votes.

Incumbent Vincent Kemosi of UDA however protested the outcome, saying he will not accept the results.

He claimed MP-elect Mogaka is a state project fronted by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and solicitor general Ken Ogeto.

Kemosi, who came third with 15,205 votes, claims the leaders helped rig in Mogaka.

Businessman Rodgers Moturi of Ford Kenya was second with 16,524 votes.

The results were announced by returning officer Sylvia Jepchumba at Sironga Girls Secondary School in West Mugirango constituency, Nyamira county.

Kemosi on Thursday stormed the Sironga Girls tallying centre with ODM’s Rodgers Moturi protesting the outcome.

He said they will file a petition so that residents of West Mugirango can go back and conduct fresh election, since Mogaka won unfairly by support from state machinery.

“Residents of West Mugirango never voted for the one who has been declared winner. They have been robbed their rightful leader.

"I am aware some of this plans have been plotted by senior government officials led by outgoing CS Matiang’i, outgoing solicitor general Ogeto and Lands commission chairperson Charles Nyatigo, but we will soon know the truth,” Kemosi said.

He claimed Mogaka never came out to campaign and stayed in his house.

Kemosi said Mogaka only came out during the last minutes of campaigns to ask for security to go and campaign, which he says would not give him the opportunity to will the election.

“The one who has been declared MP elect did not even campaign, yet he has miraculously been declared the winner.

"We are not going to agree with this outcome and we wish to state that the people of West Mugirango will be waiting for that day that justice will be done to them,” he said.

Moturi said they are not satisfied with the votes garnered by Mogaka from where they consider their strong support bases.
