Turkana Senator Malachy Ekal has decried the delay of the voting exercise despite arriving before 6 am to vote.

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote at Handcraft Hall in Lodwar, Turkana Central constituency, the Wiper party Senatorial candidate said the voting exercise did not start on time as expected by voters.

"I arrived early at the polling station to cast my vote but I had to wait till at 6.30 am to vote," he said.

Ekal said the IEBC team had not prepared to open the polling station on time.

He said the clerks didn't have tables, rulers and other items making it difficult for them to work as fast as they should.

He urged the voters to vote wisely.

"Do not vote for a candidate because of money, vote for a person that you think can bring better service to the people to make our country better," he said.
