Mombasa governor candidate Abullswamad Sherrif Nassir joined thousands of residents in exercising their democratic rights despite the suspension of the Mombasa governor election.
The ODM gubernatorial candidate voted at Mvita Primary School in Majengo Ward at 10:00 am.
Nassir stated that he has received reports of widespread delays in the commencement of voting in several polling stations due to failure of the KIEMS kits.
However, he expressed pride in the resolve of Mombasa’s voters for braving the frustration and remaining in the queues.
The outgoing Mvita MP reminded the electorate that it is their inalienable right to vote.
“The IEBC is obliged to extend voting hours to compensate for the delays,” he urged.
He added that, “everybody must vote. If you are left out, please come back, your vote is your voice.”
