Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko urged all agents in Mombasa County not to eat food brought by unknown people.
He cautioned them against trusting anyone, especially during this election period.
"Kitu ningependa kuwaonya, mkiletewa chakula na wapinzani wetu msikule! Wameweka mambo yao ile tu waliwekea siku moja, mutaanza kuona zigzag, kukiwa na shida , tutaacha namba zetu, tutakua around, na ukiskia vurugu mahali unatupigia."
Loosely translated to: "I want to warn you, if somebody brings you food and you do not know them, don't eat. We will leave our phone numbers in case of anything, call us."
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati suspended Mombasa governor elections following a mix-up in the printing of ballot papers.
The elective areas include Mombasa and Kakamega counties where governor elections were suspended until further notice.
Chebukati said this followed the realization that the details and images of the candidates were wrong.
"Ballot papers for Mombasa governor position have wrong gubernatorial candidates' pictures and their images printed on them," Chebukati said.
