 It is all systems go at the National Tallying Centre housed at the Bomas of Kenya as officials wait for results that are expected to start streaming after polls close at 5 pm.

Workers and technicians were seen putting last-minute touches to ensure smooth operations of what would be the nerve centre of the general election.

Security is tight at premises, with a contingent of police from the APS and GSU standing guard and patrolling the area.

Several media house gave also set up booths for broadcasting the events as they unfold.

Nairobi security chiefs and area police commanders were also spotted inspecting the premises.

At the tallying centre, there are allocated spaces for diplomats, election observers, presidential candidates, political parties, observers and stakeholders, and IEBC staff.

Activities at the centre are expected to pick up after 5 pm when the first batch of results will be streamed in.
