Deputy President William Ruto has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Handshake partner Raila Odinga of using state agencies to block his bid to be the fifth president of Kenya.

Raila is the Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate and has been backed by President Uhuru.

Speaking at Bungoma's Posta grounds Friday during the Kenya kwanza rally, Ruto blasted President Kenyatta for supporting Raila terming the move an act of betrayal.

He said Uhuru would not have won the presidency without his support.

But even so, the DP said he is not haranguing the President because of the move saying he is ready to meet Raila on the ballot.

Ruto said it is only his Kenya Kwanza government that has a real plan to change the economy of the country.

“As the economy of the country stands it needs someone who has a plan to change the economy of the country and create job opportunities for the unemployed youths,” Ruto added.

Ruto said that his administration will have a budget that will be injected into the ailing Western region industries that are currently on their deathbed.

He added that he owes the region a big debt for backing his bid saying he will pay them back at an opportune time.

“My Bungoma, Busia, Trans- Nzoia, Vihiga and Kakamega supporters, I owe you a big debt for your unconditional support towards my bid. A big thank goes to my big brothers Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula,” Ruto said.

In the Presidential debate, Ruto faulted Raila Odinga for skipping the vital opportunity saying that he was prepared to face him.

“That day I wanted to meet ‘Bwana Kitendawili’ during the Presidential debate so that I can tackle him but because he has no plan for this great country he decided to skip the debate,” Ruto said.

Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga on his part faulted the government for lowering fertilizer prices when farmers have already harvested the maize adding that they would have lowered during planting.

“We are very bitter with this Uhuru Kenyatta government. We have no thirst for the flour that they are talking about. We are waiting for William Ruto to take over the government so that we can enjoy the freedom,” Mwambu said.

Ruto trashed the recent opinion polls stating that Raila is ahead.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula asked Uhuru and Raila to stop using DCI to intimidate the IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati.

He said Chebukati holds a constitutional office and he should be given time to execute his roles.

In his appeal, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi asked the state to ensure an enabling environment is provided for Kenyans to exercise their democratic rights.

Mudavadi said that the media, the ministry of ICT and provincial officers should do their job professionally without leaning on one side.

Wetang’ula said that Bungoma is now a Kenya Kwanza stronghold dismissing claims by Raila that Bungoma used his ‘bedroom’.
