Azimio la Umoja's presidential running mate Martha Karua has expressed confidence that they will liberate Kenyans from bad leadership.

She said the funds lost each year would be enough to fund the coalition's plan to offer direct monthly support to over two million underprivileged Kenyans.

Speaking to local Radio Stations, Martha said that Kenyans should not be duped to elect a group of leaders who lacks merit.

Describing Odinga as the father of devolution, Karua termed him as the perfect candidate to sit at the helm of the country.

She said that she will work closely with Raila Odinga to fix the economy by sealing corruption loopholes.

“We will deliver to Kenyans the third liberation. Several years since we attained independence, we are still struggling to address poverty, illiteracy, and sickness,” Karua said.

Karua said under their leadership, the country will achieve real reforms and be freed from the shackles of corruption.

“We will introduce tax waivers to Kenyans as one way of empowering them while also our government will empower the youth, create for their employees and create conducive conditions for them to thrive,” she said.

She warned Kenyans from falling into propaganda traps being pushed by their opponents.

She said that Raila Odinga is committed to serving Kenyans in attaining economic freedom.

Karua outlined their plans to bolster the country’s agricultural, manufacturing, housing, and industrial growth and expressed optimism that their government will improve all the sectors.

She took issue with Deputy President William Ruto for constantly attacking her boss President Uhuru Kenyatta and discriminating against the Jubilee government.

Karua cautioned Mt Kenya residents against being deceived by leaders with empty promises who, while in office, neither made an impact on their lives or those of Kenyans nor delivered on duties entrusted to them.

She further urged voters to take time and assess their leaders and make sure they vote for individuals with a good track record.

“When you look at the two teams, it is clear which one you can trust, and which team means business. Do not waste your vote on a team of leaders who cannot be trusted even by their villages,” said Karua.

During a recent rally in Naivasha, President Uhuru drummed support for Raila Odinga whom he termed the perfect candidate to succeed him.

Uhuru had also heaped praise on Azimio La Umoja's presidential running mate Martha Karua noting that she is a trusted public servant and her no-nonsense character makes her a good fit for the deputy president's role.

The President was certain that Karua would strive to ensure that leaders accused of stealing from public coffers face the full wrath of the law.

Raila Odinga and deputy president William Ruto have been fighting over the control of the Mount Kenya region.

During a recent rally in Mt Kenya, the deputy president pleaded with president Uhuru Kenyatta to stop campaigning for Raila Odinga.

Ruto pleaded with the president to instead ensure the country delivers credible elections.

"I urge President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure the August polls are credible. We cannot afford to postpone elections," Ruto pleaded.
