Ruto has played you - CS Wamalwa to Mudavadi, Wetangula

He said the Luhya community will only be safe under the Raila Presidency.

In Summary

•He said the conditions set for them to stand a chance for a 30 per cent government stake will be their undoing in the event Ruto wins the presidency.

•"The  Deputy President enticed Mudavadi and Wetangula with a sweet deal but cunningly set up tough conditions that the two leaders may not meet in the August polls," said the CS.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa now claims ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula have been shortchanged in the agreement they signed with DP William Ruto.

He said the conditions set for them to stand a chance for a 30 per cent government stake will be their undoing in the event Ruto wins the presidency.

"The  Deputy President enticed Mudavadi and Wetangula with a sweet deal but cunningly set up tough conditions that the two leaders may not meet in the August polls," said the CS.

Wamalwa further implored the two leaders to the quit the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and join Azimio-One Kenya coalition to salvage their political future.

"The two brothers of mine are welcome in Azimio- One Kenya which is home. In our father’s home there are many mansions to accommodate them,"he said.

The CS was addressing campaign meetings in Chebarus in Cherangany, Namanjalala in Kwanza and Lukhome in Saboti sub-counties, Trans Nzoia county.

Wamalwa was accompanied by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, former national assembly speaker Kenneth Marende, Trans Nzoia governor candidate George Natembeya and Trans Nzoia Speaker Joshua Werunga.

Wamalwa said a recent confession by the second in command’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua that the presidency would rotate from Ruto to him and Kithure Kindiki is a clear indication that both Mudavadi and Wetangula were not in the Alliance’s picture.

He said the Luhya community will only be safe under the Raila Presidency.

The Azimio- One Kenya Presidential candidate has promised to appoint Oparanya as Treasury Minister while Marende will be the Senate, Speaker.

Wamalwa is poised to remain at the Department of defence as Cabinet Secretary.

The former Speaker said Ruto orchestrated the removal of Professor Laban Ayiro from the University of Eldoret where he was serving as the Vice-Chancellor.

"The Kenya Kwanza Presidential Candidate has no room for anyone from the Luhya nation. We are seeking votes on Raila’s behalf because he has shown that he cares for us," he said.

Oparanya who is also ODM Deputy Party leader warned some candidates vying on parties affiliated to Azimio- One Kenya in the larger western Kenya which includes Trans Nzoia against sibling rivalry.

"Direct your energies in seeking votes instead of fighting over petty issues that may make our opponents win," he said.

He said every party in the coalition has a right to seek votes without intimidation from anyone.

"As a deputy party leader, I want to tell you here that there is nothing like zoning either here in Trans Nzoia, Kakamega and any other western County," he said.

Natembeya on his part rallied residents of Trans Nzoia to support Raila Odinga's candidature saying the former premier was the best bet for Kenya after demonstrating his commitment to the Country.

"Raila just like his late father is a selfless and pragmatic person who sacrificed his ambition to have the country achieve its dream. This is a man who was detained for 9 years without trial," he said.

The former regional commissioner said that Trans Nzoia County had not been left behind in supporting Raila whom he described as an enigma of great vision for this country.

He warned residents of Trans Nzoia against voting for leaders vying on the Ford Kenya ticket accusing the political outfit of contributing to economic failures in the county.

The Azimio- one Kenya Presidential Candidate is expected to tour the County in the company of his running mate Martha Karua on Friday to drum up support for their bid in aregion with over 300, 000 votes.
