President Uhuru Kenyatta said Azimio deputy presidential candidate Martha Karua will jail land grabbers and graft suspects when the Azimio brigade ascends to power after the August polls.

Uhuru said he was lenient with corruption suspects during his term but warned this will not be the case with Karua.

"Land grabbers will be jailed. Karua will not hesitate to go after them. They will be in cells. She won’t forgive them as I did," Uhuru said.

While drumming up support for the duo, the Head of State exuded confidence that Raila Odinga and Karua will be able to continue with the job he started.

“They are the ones who will be able to continue with this job for us to ensure we have a country that is being led in a just manner, the right way and in a way that solves citizens’ problems,” he said.

Uhuru was speaking in Nairobi when he commissioned government projects on Tuesday.

He also campaigned for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga in Nairobi and asked residents to elect Raila.

Uhuru told off critics telling him to complete his term and leave, saying he is going nowhere.

“I'm here to stay. They keep telling me to finish and go, where will I go? I am here to stay. I won’t go to Somalia,” he said.

The President seemed to hit out at his deputy William Ruto over remarks that he should only focus on his retirement ahead of next month's general election.

"Hawa wengine ni wa mdomo tu na matusi (This other team is full of insults and empty talk). If you see them in their meetings they only talk about me," he said.
