Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has accused the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential aspirant Raila Odinga of being a state project.

Speaking at KTN News on Sunday, Wajackoyah trashed claims that he is a government project and further accused his Kenya Kwanza counterpart William Ruto of being the government project.

"First of all Raila Odinga is a project of the government, Ruto himself is a project within a project in the government, I am here I am a project of the people," Wajackoyah claimed.

Wajackoyah said that he is disregarded because his rivals think he is a nobody.

"There is a problem in this country. There is a problem with Ruto and his cohorts and there is also a problem with Raila and his cohorts. I came from from nowhere, they disregarded me completely the way Barack Obama was disregarded," he said.

The presidential candidate accused the two alliances of ignoring him without making any effort to know what he was doing for society.

"If I do anything that is not favorable to Azimio or Ruto you see people coming up and tweeting. If I talk about something that favors one side another side will complain," said Wajackoya.

He added that when such allegations are made it suggests the other camps have sensed defeat.

Ruto in an interview with KTN News, claimed that Wajackoyah was parachuted to share screen time with him during the launch of his manifesto at KICC on June 30, arguably devaluing the DP's contribution.

"On that day of the manifesto launch, a fellow (Wajackoyah) was parachuted so that we share the screen, which again adds to the same narrative of a biased media," he said.

Ruto seemed to have been rubbed the wrong way after Wajackoyah had his manifesto launch on the same day as his, and the duo were forced to share media airtime.

In a previous interview, nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura had stated that Wajackoyah was a state-sponsored project.

"Wajackoyah is a state-sponsored project and should not be taken seriously. He has the attention of Kenyans for now and his manifesto is a joke," Mwaura said.

Mwaura claimed that Wajackoyah is a distraction and cannot be taken seriously by Kenyans.

The nominated senator added that at every election includes a 'comic' contestant and 2022 is no exception.
