Rarieda Constituency UDA candidate Bernard Odinga, on Thursday, referred to his presidential candidate William Ruto as 'Baba'.

Baba is a term popularly used to address or describe the Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

While asking questions after the DP  launched his manifesto at Kasarani Stadium, Bernard referred to Ruto as Baba for the better part of his speech.

"Sisi kazi yetu ni kuvua samaki Baba. Kwa ajenda zako hatujasikia tutapata usaidizi namna gani kule Siaya kwa sababu Baba unaona mambo ya Lake ... hatuna security," he said.

Bernard further begged Ruto to visit the area, saying they have Kenya Kwanza candidates and supporters who back him.

"Baba, we are your children from Siaya. When you visited Kisumu, I invited you and you promised to come after December. Now I'm urging you as your candidate, Baba please visit us."

In his manifesto, Ruto centred his plan around uplifting the lives of ordinary citizens.

In his agricultural growth and development plan, he said he will focus on ways to combat and manage any risks.

"They include crop and livestock insurance schemes, commodity market instruments such as forward contracts, futures contracts and price stabilization schemes," Ruto said.

He, however, did not talk about fish farming or by extension, the occasional conflict between Ugandans and Kenyans in the Lake Victoria region.
