Kenya's Covid-19 positivity rate Saturday jumped to 14.5 per cent after 398 people were found to have contracted the virus in 24 hours.
This followed tests conducted on 2,745 individuals.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement the new patients include 365 Kenyans and 33 foreigners.
They comprise 202 females and 196 males, the youngest being a 1-year-old while the oldest patient is aged 96 years old.
"Total confirmed positive cases are now 329,107 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,720,078," Kagwe said.
In terms of county distribution, Nairobi had 237 patients, Kiambu 46, Kitui 23, Murang’a 15, Uasin Gishu 12, Mombasa 11, Kericho 9, Kilifi 8, and Nakuru 7.
Siaya has 6, Kisumu 4, Garissa 3, Kisii 3, Embu 2, Kwale 2,Tana River 2, Nyeri 2 while Homa Bay, Kajiado, Kakamega, Narok, Meru and Migori counties have one case each.
Globally, 538 million cases have been confirmed so far resulting in 6.32 million deaths.
In Kenya, the death toll stands at 5,651 there having been no death reported on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 218 patients recovered from the disease, 199 from the Home Based and Isolation Care Program while 19 from various health facilities countrywide.
This pushes the total recoveries to 320,364 out of which 267,293 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,071 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Kagwe said patient admissions countrywide stand at 70, while those under the home-based care programme are 3,022.
He said only one patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on ventilator support, while 10 are in general wards on supplemental oxygen.
"No patient is in the High Dependency Unit," Kagwe said.
On Friday, Kenya recorded 390 new cases from a sample size of 3,353 to put the positivity rate at 11.6 per cent.
