DP Ruto takes campaigns to Nakuru, Nyandarua counties

Deputy President and Kenya Kwanza presidential aspirant William Ruto will on Thursday take his campaigns to Nakuru and Nyandarua counties.

The campaigns will begin with an economic forum meeting at the Rift Valley Club before proceeding for rallies in Ol Kalou, Miharati in Kipipiri and Magumu in Kinangop.

This will be Ruto's first rally in the Rift Valley region after picking Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as his presidential running mate.

The DP will be seeking support from the two counties he is believed to be his strongholds, as well as reclaim the gains his opponent, Raila Odinga has made from his frequent visits to the two counties.

Raila of the Azimio La Umoja coalition has made frequent visits to Nakuru and Nyandarua which have earned him support from area leaders.

Governors Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua) all support the former Prime Minister's candidature.

On Wednesday, Ruto met leaders from Kiambu and Laikipia counties at his Karen residence.
