How Kenya Kwanza plans to campaign ahead of August polls

There will be no zoning in the Kenya Kwanza campaigns.

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday revealed the plan Kenya Kwanza Aliance will use in campaigning across the country.

Speaking during the unveiling of a running mate at his residence in Karen, Ruto said the plan will ensure things run smoothly to avoid unhealthy competition among partner parties.

He insisted that Kenya Kwanza is a coalition of democrats, the willing and the free and that there will be no zoning.

"All parties will be allowed to field their candidates. We will however as Kenya Kwanza empower our candidates in every ward, constituency and county with scientific information on the performance of each and every candidate and encourage local agreements amongst the different parties in different electoral areas, to negotiate and agree on the best approach to our alliance winning a majority of seats at every level," Ruto said.

"We will also provide a template on how our candidates will be coordinated in every county and every constituency."

The second in command also appointed Governors Salim Mvurya, Amason Kingi, Issa Timamy and Lydia Haika to take charge of the Coast region campaigns.

Jonshon Muthama, Governor Alfred Mutua, Penina Malonza, Adelina Mwau and Jonathan Mueke will take charge of the South Eastern region activities.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Mithika Linturi and Beatrice Nkathaa will run  Mt Kenya East activities, while Alice Wahome, Governor Anne Waiguru, Mwangi Kiunjuri, William Kabogo, Kimani Ichung’wah,  Mutahi Kahiga, Patrick Mariru, and Faith Gitau will be in charge of Central Kenya activities.

"In the Rift Valley region, activities will be coordinated by Susan Kihika, Charles Keter, Josphat Nanok, Moses Lenol kulal, Peris Tobiko, Samuel Tunai, Senator Murkomen, Margaret Wanjala and Immaculate Shamala."

"In Nyanza Okoth Obado, Charles Nyachae, Eilud Owalo,Sylvanus Osoro and Vincent Kimosi will be in charge," Ruto said.

Western region will be led by Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, Beatrice Adagala, Benjamin Washiali, Ababu Namwamba and Emmanuel Osore as Adan Duale and Ahmed Kolosh will lead North Eastern campaigns.

In Upper Eastern, Carnol Rasso Dido Ali and Hassan Tene will be Ruto's point men.
