Comedian-politician Phelix Odiwour, alias Jalang'o has won the ODM party nominations for Lang'ata parliamentary seat.
Jalang'o won the seat after garnering 3,509 votes against his competitor Oscar Omoke who got 1,612 votes. The race had six contestants.
Others Sally Bollo got 138 votes, Taa Vivienne had 121 votes, Kahiga Musaari Syongoh 197 and Wangusi Nathan Barasa got 146 votes.
The former radio presenter will now fly the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance ticket in Lang'ata where he will face off with the incumbent Nixon Korir.
Korir is vying on a UDA party ticket.
"God has given me the chance to fly the Azimio Flag in the August Elections!! Thank you Langata! We are one step in! Now the real work begins!! God above everything!!" Jalang'o wrote on Instagram after confirming his win.
Blogger Robert Alai on the other hand bagged the Kileleshwa ward ODM ticket after narrowly winning the nominations exercise.
Alai got 638 votes against his closest Junior Tollo who got 545 votes. Victoria Angani got 130 votes and Perpetua Okello bagged 364 votes.
"Thank you ODM. Thank you Baba Raila Odinga. Thank you Wanakileleshwa," Alai said after being declared the winner.
The interim nominations certificates will be issued tomorrow.
