Oscar Sudi calls Raila to apologize over stoning of chopper

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has said he called former prime minister Raila Odinga to apologize for the incident where his chopper was stoned.

Sudi has also publicly apologized in Eldoret over the incident.

He said he also telephoned MPs Junet Mohammed and Babu Owino to apologize.

The chopper was stoned at Kabenes in Uasin Gishu after the burial of Mzee Jackson Kiprotiich Kibor on Friday.

"It was a mistake for which we regret and I have called them and apologized because what happened was unacceptable," said Sudi.

Sudi also invited Odinga to organize a rally in Eldoret which he said they would ensure goes on peacefully.

The MP said Odinga was a national leader who didn't deserve such treatment.

The MP spoke at Belekenya in his constituency during the burial of former KNUT official John Borr.

Present also were governor Jackson Mandago, area MP Dr Swarrup Mishra and nominated MP Wilson Sosion.

"We welcome the move by police to arrest those involved," said Sudi.

He said that despite the differences between leaders there should be no violence in the ongoing campaigns.

Sudi said local leaders are used to ferrying youth to heckle other leaders must be stopped.
