The National Police Service (NPS) has announced that it has put in place measures necessary to provide security in April when both Muslims and Christians will be celebrating vital religious events.
In a statement, Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso said NPS has partnered with multiagency frameworks to secure all urban areas, highways and places of interest.
"These high-level activities also present opportunities to a few criminal elements to plot disruptive activities that may harm the smooth running of organized events and activities," Shioso said.
April is a celebratory month for both Christians (Easter Holidays) and Muslims (Ramadhan).
The African Rally Championship (ARC) will also be held in April in Naivasha and the KCSE exams will continue till the first day of the month.
The measures will safeguard both human life and properties.
Shioso added that the partnered agencies have enhanced their surveillance and intelligence.
He further said that the NPS will continue serving Kenyans with patriotism and diligence to ensure peace and stability is maintained.
He also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities and persons.
"In the spirit of community policing, the NPS appeals to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest police officer."
