Kenya records 12 new covid 19 cases, one death

The new cases represent a positivity rate of 0.3 per cent.

In Summary

Total confirmed positive cases are now 323,395 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,507,448.

The youngest is a three years old child while the oldest is 63 years old.

Kenya on Tuesday recorded 12 Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 4,661 tested in the last 24 hours.

The new cases represent a positivity rate of 0.3 per cent.

In a statement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said from the cases, 8 are Kenyans and 4 foreigners. 7 are females while 5 are males.

He added that the youngest is a three years old child while the oldest is aged 63.

The total confirmed positive cases are now 323,395 while the cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,507,448.

From the statement, county distribution is; Nairobi 11 and Meru 1.

Kagwe said 16 patients have recovered from the disease, all of them from Home-Based Isolation and Care.

This pushes the total recoveries to 317,624 of whom 264,610 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,014 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Unfortunately, one patient has succumbed to the disease and it is a late death reported after auditing facility records in the month of March 2022. This pushes the cumulative fatalities to 5,648.

13 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 110 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

One patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is also on ventilatory support.

Three patients are on supplemental oxygen and all of them are in the general wards.

No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
