Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris on Monday claimed that her convoy was attacked while on a campaign trail in Westlands Constituency near Deepsea slums, Nairobi county.
Passaris, in a post on social media, called upon the office of the Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and the National Police service to intervene.
"Our convoy is under attack. We are in Westlands near Deepsea. Help. The thugs have taken our truck keys and are demanding money to give back our keys," Passaris tweeted.
She added that they are stranded inside the truck.
"We know the thugs. They have broken our windscreen. Help."
The MP is seeking her second term in office in the August 9 election.

She had earlier toured Mountain View Ward and Parklands Ward for her campaigns.
Passaris is seeking to defend her seat under the ODM ticket which is one of the parties under the Azimio La Umoja Movement.
Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga of the UDA party has also expressed interest in the seat.
Millicent Omanga is a close ally to the DP William Ruto.
