Deputy President William Ruto took his Kenya Kwanza Alliance campaigns to Tana River County to urge the locals to support his team.

Speaking in Garsen on Thursday, the DP said many leaders have formed one team with an aim of stopping an ordinary citizen from ascending to power.

Loosely translates to: "You’ve witnessed the war against me, many people have teamed up because they want to stop a government of the common citizen because they are used to us".

He, however, warned his opponents saying they will face it rough since it is the people who will decide come August 9.

Ruto claimed the Garsen region has been marginalised and that the plans that the Jubilee government had put in place to boost development has been paralysed by the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta, and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Loosely translates to: "We had plans under the Big Four Agenda. The government's program should have run from 2017 to 2022. But a few people met and sabotaged it, saying that the employment of all the youths is not a priority. They told us that amending the constitution to create more seats for politicians is more important".

The DP was accompanied by a number of leaders including ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, among others.

Nyoro claimed that Uhuru is backing Raila o succeed him in order to have his business secured.

The leaders also condemned the government for the harassment of the boda boda operators across the country following the Forest Road incident in Nairobi.
