•OKA team had planned to sign its coalition agreement on Monday, February 28 .
•OKA leaders are also expected to announce the outfit's flagbearer.
One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals have signed a coalition agreement this Friday morning ahead of the August 9 elections.
Gideon Moi (Kanu), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Martha Karua (Narc Kenya) and Cyrus Jirongo of UDP signed the pact at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi, just a day before Azimio la Umoja's NDC that will be held on Saturday.
The team had postponed the signing of the deal in February. This put into limbo the sealing of a grand deal with Azimio.
OKA leaders are also expected to announce the outfit's flagbearer.
Speaking after the signing of the deal, Kalonzo said as a party they had made sacrifices before and would make more sacrifices if need be.
"We have no doubt in our minds that this country is more important than any of us. We have made sacrifices before and we are ready to make more sacrifices but we also expect that Kenyans you know that no individual is indispensable," Kalonzo said.
Oka has been joined by Irungu Nyakera (Farmer's party) and Ugenya MP David Ochieng of the Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) party.
Nyakera said his party believed in the vision of one Kenya and felt Oka was headed in the right direction.
"We aren't here by mistake or accident. We believe in the vision of one Kenya and we have the right to be in a place where we share values. I feel we are headed in the right direction. We will do our best to popularise the coalition and manifesto," he said.
Ochieng said he was happy to be part of the initiative.
"We have chosen this path. I am in the right place where my heart belongs. In the next ten minutes, the only coalition would be Oka. Let's be happy with what we have achieved," he said.
Karua, while welcoming the two leaders, said if any party feels uncomfortable within the coalition, they should walk away.
"It's a great day that we have finally signed the One Kenya Alliance Coalition agreement. We have bounced back stronger, we were four parties, we are six today and still counting because more are on the way," she said.
