One Kenya Alliance has postponed its coalition agreement signing which was scheduled for Wednesday to early next week.

In a statement read by Narc Kenya's Martha Karua, the team said the postponement is to allow for the polishing of certain legal issues that have arisen.

"Nevertheless, we are committed to our unity. We will be letting you know the time we shall sign the agreement," Karua said.

"We are happy to report that the best legal minds are now working on it (coalition agreement) and have assured us that by this week they will be over and we will be good to go early next week," Kanu chairman Gideon Moi added.

In the meantime, Karua said OKA was open to honest, open and transparent negotiations with other parties for purposes of forging a solid like-minded alliance that would help the coalition achieve its objective of forming the next government.

Kalonzo Musyoka, the other quarter of the OKA, said in a KTN interview on Tuesday that the coalition agreement would give the formation official status as the team continues to reach out to other parties for a pact ahead of the August polls.

Kalonzo, however, ruled out the possibility of OKA working with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

“We are under no illusions whatsoever that OKA can work with UDA that is out of the question,” Kalonzo said.
