Barasa has declared interest in the Kakamega governor seat on the ODM ticket.

The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (Ketraco) CEO Fernandes Barasa has resigned hours before grilling by Members of Parliament.

Barasa stepped down on Monday and was expected to appear before the National Assembly Public Investments Committee (PIC) on Tuesday. 

His contract was due to end in April this year.

Barasa is said to have tendered his resignation and removed his personal belongings from the office.

Barasa has declared interest in the Kakamega Gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming General Elections under the ODM ticket. 

In light of the probe, the committee has also summoned senior Kenya Power managers tomorrow over Sh600 million excess payment made to Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) for a project in Marsabit County.
