Hundreds of ANC supporters trooped to Bomas of Kenya on Sunday morning for the much-awaited announcement by party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
Filled with enthusiasm, the party members and supporters arrived at the venue in buses from as early as 7am ready for the big day.
Mudavadi has been keeping Kenyans guessing on his next move and has only said the announcement will shake the political landscape of the country.
Security at the venue was tight and only guests with cards were allowed to the auditorium.
Others were directed to the tents where they will follow proceeding on giant screens mounted on the sides.
The venue was painted green with the colors of the Amani National Coalition.
Supporters were seen dressed in the ANC party colors as they showed their support to their party leader.
Green caps, white shirts, green t-shirts all embroidered with the party logo and party leader's name were seen all over the place.
Ushers were also dressed in white ANC beret caps and white ribbons.
Bomas of Kenya auditorium and other tents are also decorated with green and white.
