Kenya records 310 new cases as 3,384 recover from Covid

A total of 11,082,457 vaccines have been administered across the country.

Kenya has today (Sunday) recorded 310 new cases of covid from a sample size of 3, 961 tested in the last 24 hours, health CS Mutahi Kagwe has announced.

The new cases represent a positivity rate of 7.8 per cent. 256 of the new cases are Kenyans while 54 are foreigners. 161 are females while 149 are males.

The total confirmed positive cases in the country now shoot to 317,634 while the cumulative tests done is at 3,147,823.

On a positive note, 3,384 Kenyans have recovered from the disease.

3,329 of them were from home-based care and isolation while 54 were admitted to various hospitals in the country.

The cumulative number of recoveries stand at 284,727 of whom 233,586 are from home-based care and isolation while 51,141 recovered from the hospital.

The country did not record a death case within the last 24 hours. The caseload remains at 5,488.

As of today, 1,042 patients are admitted to various health facilities countrywide. 10,664 others are under home-based isolation and care programs.

53 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU)and 51 others are on ventilatory support. Two are on supplemental oxygen.

VACCINATION CAMPAIGN

As of January 15, a total of 11,082,457 vaccines have been administered across the country.

Of these, 6,198,816 are partially vaccinated while 4,763,682 are fully vaccinated.

Another30,245 are doses administered to those between 15 to 18 years.
