The 'bribe' was to influence voting on the contentious Political Parties (Amendment), 2021.
Parliament was Wednesday evening rocked with chaos after Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro sensationally claimed money was changing hands to influence vote in a particular way.
The vocal lawmaker accused Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi of dishing bribes to MPs at the tune of Sh100,000 per member.
The 'bribe' was to influence voting on the contentious Political Parties (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
"We have evidence that these members are being given Sh100,000 by Fatuma Gedi. I want to put it categorically that there is a trend to bribe members. I cannot be intimidated by these Covid-19 billionaires. There is evidence that money has been changing hands," he claimed.
The lawmaker did not however back his allegations with evidence.
Narok MP Soipan Tuya who was moderating the session demanded that Ndindi substantiates his claims and after failing to do so, suspended the MP for two sittings.
"Based on standing order 107, having misled the House, I order Nyoro be removed from precincts of Parliament for two days,” Tuya directed.
She further ordered that Gedi - who was distributing sweets to members - be kicked out of Parliament for one day.
