Mt Kenya won't vote like robots, we demand MoU, says Kiunjuri

He says residents should not be deceived to vote without thinking through their decisions.

In Summary

Kiunjuri said there must be a MoU between the aspiring Presidential candidates with the region to ensure they won’t go against the will but cater for the interests of the region on improving Agriculture, youth empowerment among others.

TSP leader Mwangi Kiunjuri has urged residents of Mt Kenya to vote for a leader who can improve their lives and not parties.

Kiunjuri said there must be an MoU between presidential aspirants with the region to ensure they honour the will and interests of the region on improving agriculture and empowering the youth, among other development projects.

He said Mt Kenya should vote as a bloc as has happened before, adding that lack of unity could lead to coerciveness and intimidation from those to take power.

“You have heard intended splitting of Mt Kenya East and West. There are those who want to divide us into Mt Kenya East and West to rule us easily. I want to tell you that when divided, we will be destroyed."

He said residents should not be deceived to vote 'six piece'—MCA, MP, governor, woman rep, senator and president.

Kiunjuri said Mt Kenya should not be taken for granted in the 2022 general election, as they have their own party and are not fools.

“It is not a must for me to be Kenya’s deputy president. A voiceless deputy president is a useless one. I can’t be deputy to someone intimidating or coercing me to do things that destroy the economy of our people," he said.

“I have been a public servant for the last 27 years. Vote for a leader, not parties. It is time to mix and match. People already know their preferred candidates.”

Kiunjuri said only Mt Kenya has a leadership vacuum.

“Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is invited at State House with only five MPs, Gideon Moi, too, with only about 10, Moses Wetang'ula with 12, Musalia Mudavadi with 14 and Kalonzo Musyoka with 20," he said.

Kiunjuri said he is young, can connect with the grassroots and mobilise support to win the presidency, adding that Mwai Kibaki became president at 70.
