The Kenya Meteorological Department has said that rains are expected in most parts of the country in the next one week.

In the weather forecast,  the weatherman said some of the regions will also experience isolated storms.

"Rainfall is expected over the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County), the Coast and North-eastern Kenya," the weatherman said.

The South-eastern lowlands and Northwestern Kenya are likely to be generally dry, with a possibility of having occasional rains over few places. These include; Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita Taveta counties.

The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Central and South Rift Valley which incudes; will be generally sunny with afternoon showers and thunderstorms likely to occur over a few areas in the first and several other places thereafter.

Nights will be partly cloudy with occasional showers over some places.

The counties affected include; Kisii, Nyamira, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kakamega, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Vihiga, Bungoma, West Pokot, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Migori, Baringo, Nakuru, Narok and Laikipia.

Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties will experience morning rains with afternoon and night showers over a few places.

Turkana and Samburu counties will be dry during the day and cloudy at night.

Some places will however, experience morning rains and night showers.

Several parts of the Coast region will experience morning, after and night showers during the first half of the forecast period, while the other days will be sunny with nights partly cloudy.
