The son of former Wajir District Senator Noor Hassan who was killed in the Wagalla Massacre wants the state to make the TJRC report public.

Hassan was a senator of Wajir District between 1963 and 1966 and is among thousands of Degodias who were killed in the 1984 massacre.

“A declaration that the people of Kenya are entitled to know that contents of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission and its report be released to the public,” reads court documents.

He wants the president to make the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission Report public so that he can know how his father was killed.

In a case filed at the Milimani law courts, Mohammed Noor Adam further wants the court to declare that the Wagalla Massacre constituted a crime against humanity, was collective punishment genocide and violated international and municipal law.

Through lawyer Assa Nyakundi, Adam wants the court to declare that the "senseless, cruel, macabre and grisly murder of my father by the government" had imposed upon the petitioner gross physical, mental and psychological torture incapable of healing.
