Students across the country have started reporting back to school after their third term mid-break.

Some students reported back on Sunday as others will be doing the same this week.

Most students arrived last week, with schools giving students the midterm break, depending on the days approved by the school for the break.

Bus stations saw students and parents rush to get their children to school before fair prices hike, as public transport owners have done over the years when students are reporting back.

Parents have for a long time lamented on a trend of hiked transportation charges on days students head to and from school.

In May, schools reopened for the third term after a seven-week break. The third term is usually the shortest term in the school calendar and due to Covid-19, the term will last for only two months.

The term will run until July 16 when learners will take a week-long break.

In January, all schools were reopened following a nine-month hiatus due to Covid-19 that hit the country in March 2020.

The reopening marked the completion of the seven-week holiday that began on March 23, 2021.

Educators said schools cannot lose any more time as they still are trying to catch up on missed learning period.

Magoha in January admitted that public schools could not conform to social distancing guidelines and will heavily rely on face masks to prevent infections.
